good

"Ooh!" said Susan. "I'd thought he was a man. Is he -- quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion."

"That you will, dearie, and no mistake," said Mrs. Beaver, "if there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or else just silly."

"Then he isn't safe?" said Lucy.

"Safe?" said Mr. Beaver. "Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? 'Course he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the King, I tell you."

a summary of sorts

Hello friends.... an update as of late:

-Today was the Christmas sponsorship event I coordinated for my church... Our Crossbridge family sponsored 9 low income families in our community. After days of excessive lists, emails, planning, and staying up till two organizing gifts on our kitchen floor, it was so exciting to see the way the families were touched and blessed. The recipient parents were excited and appreciative and the enthusiastic response from the members of the church was wonderful. After a lot of prayer and amazing help from Kristen and our friends, I am certain that God orchestrated every step of this project.

-Finals are over and this semester is "dead behind the barn"... finals went well and I am happy with the semester's outcome. Mostly I am happy that it is over.

-I made dinner for the friends that helped keep me sane during the above mentioned event planning and rose to the occasion today to run last minute errands, fill their cars with supplies, and wrap gifts for two hours. The night started with chicken pot pie and ended with ice cream sundaes, us playing I-spy and Uno, wearing batman tattoos, and using Kristen's button maker. It's good when you find a place where you fit.

oh monday

Thanksgiving was splendid... I'll post pictures after finals (or maybe before if i need a break from studying).
But, this monday after the holiday has arrived in true Monday fashion... after a Sunday night of realizing that I have 3 papers due this week... and four finals next week... with a quiz sprinkled in between... so when one of my classes was cancelled leaving me with an hour break before international affairs, I whipped out my Starbucks card (compliments of Mema and Grandaddy), grabbed a steaming cup, and began to scribble down study notes viciously, trying to make the most of my hour. The sudden back to reality moment I had last night has gotten me down a little... along with the departure of my family, and my dog. So I have decided that I need another little thankful list...

so this monday i am thankful for...

1. steaming coffee
2. christmas lights on our house
3. a week at home Christmas vacation to look forward to
4. another newly engaged friend (it must be in the water)
5. the beautiful weather
6. turkey day leftovers
7. a whole afternoon to work on homework... (in all things be thankful)

hmmm... not such a bad monday after all.

p.s. family, thanks for coming up. you make me smile.

countdown continued

Yesterday afternoon/evening I got very little done, aside from working on my paper. I laughed with my roommates and ate dinner with my friends, but nothing was crossed off my excessive to do list. This morning my whole household slept in... but then we bounced up. Kristen washed dishes, I put them away... I wiped down counters, organized my pantry, Ally put on laundry and made a pot of coffee. We all got showers and I ran out the door to class. So despite the sleepy start today has been productive so far.

Today I will:

-Work on my Urban Planing and Regional Development Paper
-Read some for URP and World Politics
-Go to work and remember that I do all things for the glory of God
-Write a grocery list since I am out of everything
-Work on Crossbridge stuff (lots and losts to do before the 13th!!!)

I just got home from class, heated up my cup of coffee and am about to dive in.

Today is going to be a beautiful day.
And I am thankful for it.
